About Alsen

ALSEN, short for Alis Engineering, was founded in 2010 by Alejandro Alís, an electronics engineer with over 20 years of experience in hardware, firmware and product development.

I always work with a stable team of senior engineers. I'm the technical lead on every project and the client's single point of contact, but execution is shared depending on scope. This way of working ensures clients get exactly what they need, without the usual communication issues of larger engineering firms.

For manufacturing I work with suppliers and labs across Spain, Europe and Asia. This lets me optimize cost and lead times without compromising on quality, managing the whole chain from a single point.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the project take and how much will it cost?
It depends on complexity. A simple design can be ready for prototyping in 2 weeks and have first units in 4 more. At the start I do a no-obligation assessment with a timeline and cost estimate.
Can I make changes during development?
Yes. I handle changes transparently, with additional hours or a new quote depending on the scope of the modification. Flexibility is part of how I work.
Can you handle large-scale production?
Yes. I manage the whole industrialization process: design optimization, manufacturer selection and production management. I work with suppliers from my regular network in Spain, Europe and Asia to get the best lead times and prices without compromising quality.
How does the electronics integrate with the final product?
I work with 3D models of the product to make sure the electronics fits correctly inside its enclosure or mechanical structure. I verify tolerances, connectors, component placement and any aspect that affects final assembly.
What happens if the project doesn't go as expected?
At the start we define and document the scope, specifications and conditions of the project. That removes ambiguity: if the result meets what was specified, the goals are met. If not, I fix it. The initial documentation is the reference that protects both parties.
What documentation is delivered at the end of the project?
All the technical documentation belongs to the client. I deliver schematics, designs and manufacturing files at the end of the project, unless otherwise agreed between the parties.
Do you also develop the product's software?
My specialty is hardware and firmware, though I have experience developing software in multiple languages and operating systems. I make integration with high-level software easy through APIs, drivers and communication protocols, so the client's software team can work on top of the electronics without friction.
Is there support after the product is delivered?
Yes. I offer full post-delivery support: training, incident resolution, redesigns and updates. It can be contracted by the hour or as a fixed price depending on needs.
